Job Duties::

  • Independent research including writing a dissertation
  • Independent teaching in at least two of the areas of social science theories of capitalism and society, gender studies, sociology of labor and migration, social science debates on digitization or political sociology
  • Participation in study matters and in departmental and institute-related tasks
  • Research support in the research fields of the department (among others social theories, feminist materialisms, affect studies, research on the everyday, authoritarian populism, social policy, intersectional gender studies, etc.)
  • Participation in the organization of events
  • Participation in publications
  • Participation in project applications and third-party funding
  • Participation in academic self-administration

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a completed diploma/master’s degree in sociology/social sciences or an equivalent degree in the areas of the department
  • Very good diploma or master’s thesis
  • PhD project in the field of social theories and social analysis, preferably with a focus on gender/intersectionality
  • Knowledge of (feminist) social theories and intersectional gender studies
  • Very good knowledge of German (level C1) and English (level B2)
  • Communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team
  • Interest in teamwork and joint knowledge production
  • Interest in topics of poverty reduction/social policy/food systems or digitization/digital methods as part of the research support
