The Clinical Research Institute for Neurosciences offers the chance to work in an interesting, varied environment in a dedicated team in one of the core research areas of the Medical Faculty of the Johannes Kepler University. You'll have the opportunity to grow and develop professionally in new and exciting scientific projects. What makes this place special is the close collaboration between clinical and pre-clinical disciplines (including the University Clinics for Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology and Optometry as well as the Institutes of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Pathology and Molecular Pathology of the JKU and the Institute of Neuroradiology and the Central Radiology Institute of the KUK) at the national and international level.

We are looking for a study coordinator to work 40 hours per week in the following areas:

Job Duties::

  • Responsibility for the overall coordination and management of clinical studies at the Clinical Research Institute
  • Independent and autonomous execution of scientific work in the context of studies
  • Activities in the field of clinical research (e.g. overall coordination of clinical trials, independent administration of clinical trials, etc.)
  • Organizational and administrative support for clinical and scientific investigators in the conduct and documentation of clinical and academic studies: (preparation, documentation, data management and monitoring)
  • Support with the submission of applications to the JKU Ethics Committee
  • Communication with investigators, sponsors, study centers, principal investigators, authorities, ethics committee, etc.
  • ooperation with the Coordination Center for Clinical Studies (KKS Linz) of the JKU Faculty of Medicine and the Service Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) of Kepler University Hospital
  • Data evaluation
  • Performance of study-specific tests/measurements and preparation
  • Organization and coordination of diagnostics, laboratory, sample shipment and, if necessary, trial medication
  • Preparation and support of monitoring visits, audits and inspections by authorities
  • Maintaining a research database, project overview, recording publications and research documentation
  • Accounting for ongoing clinical trials

Your Qualifications::

  • Graduate degree (university/college) in medicine, biology, natural sciences, or related fields
  • Prior experience in clinical studies, as well as scientific work in a study nurse or study coordinator capacity, is advantageous.
  • Good clinical practice (GCP) training and knowledge of relevant regulations (ICH, AMG) preferred
  • Prior experience in project management is preferred
  • Knowledge of data processing and statistical programs (SPSS, Excel) desired
  • Very good computer skills (MS Office and Moodle)
  • Very good spoken and written knowledge of German and good English (German level C1, English level B2)
  • Belastbarkeit, Teamfähigkeit wie auch selbstständige, zuverlässige und strukturierte Arbeitsweise
  • Initiative and motivation to contribute to the development of a new, interdisciplinary research institute
  • Willingness for further training and further education
